Mmmitch: Reuploaded [replaced by build 462]
Thanks, this worked great... til this morning.

I hibernated my computer for a night and just restarted it. Miranda couldn't connect to Facebook chat, so I restarted it (for some reason didn't close properly, so had to close it by ctrl+alt+del).

Now everytime Miranda starts, file window opens and asks to select "GnuPG executable (gpg.exe)". Miranda is now trying to connect to FB chat with no result, not giving any error messages. MSN protocol works as usual.

Is this a Facebook problem?
IMHO there are several threads about hibernate and resume, have you tried the Keepstatus plugin?

And GnuPG is a separate plugin, Facebook not use decrypt text.

Oops sorry..... Problem had nothing to do with FB plugin as I thought, or hibernation either. I just had experimentally checked a couple of options of SecureIM (and not restarted Miranda after that).

I'm using the release available at http://disk.jabbim.cz/jarvis@jabber.cz/facebook.rar and I noticed that it doesn't seem to have custom online/offline icons. Is this an oversight for 0.0.0.7 or has the protocol never had more than the Facebook and Mind icons in the DLL?

If it's the latter, I threw together a dummy DLL with Online, Offline, and Idle icons that can be used. I took them from the Facebook chat... though Facebook doesn't have an Offline, they just remove the person's entry from the list, so I simply turned the green Online to gray.

Would this pack be of use to anyone?

Also, like I said, I have an Idle icon because Facebook seems to support it, but this protocol plug-in does not. I have friends registered as online in Miranda but Idle in Facebook. That may have been addressed elsewhere in the thread, but this thread is rather lengthy, so... is Idle supported, or will it be?

Thanks for your hard work!

Yes, it has been adressed previously. The idle state in Facebook is managed by the server, so at this point it seems not easy to set/unset it from the client side.

However, I've seen that there are two calls in the the Facebook REST API that seem available to set the server-side-managed user status. Maybe they are only available for "Facebook applications" or maybe they are pending on the TODO list of the plugin, I don't know.

I think that may be an internal prerelease for a tester, not a public release.

You could use the icons from a previous release, anyway.

Oh I don't mean letting Miranda set it, I mean letting Miranda observe it. If one of my contacts registers as Idle at facebook.com, it registers as Online in Miranda because there is no Idle.

Miranda does have a "Idle" state. To see if you must have "Dim Idle Contacts" set. Of course the protocol has to write the idle key for it to work.

problem facebook

hello,

i have the following problem with the facebook plugin. using newest version of miranda and facebook.

whenever i start to chat, i can write something. when the person answers, i see the answer. but if i answer again, i cannot see my answer, i just see the text of my chat partner but copied twice. example:

1) Me: hello

2) Me: hello
friend: hi!

3) i type "whats up" and hit enter. i see:

Me: hello
friend: hi Me: hello friend: hi

and so on...do you understand me? is this a unique problem?

another example:

Friend: hey
Friend: how are you?
Friend: are you there?

i type "hi" and i see:

Friend: hey
Friend: how are you?
Friend: are you there? Friend: hey Friend: How are you? Friend: are you there?
