Running on Background and Protocols

Hello, i have a few questions.

1) I have miranda cult pack and i added facebook plugin.

Well when i added facebook and made it work, i noticed that when i close miranda from tray icon (right click, exit) it is still running on background and cant open it again. I have to terminate it and then open.

Well if i close miranda from the "x" Close Miranda button from the contact list it doesnt run on background and i can open it again without any probs.

Any solution?


2) 2nd question is about contacts from different protocols.

Can i do something so i have them in saparate part on my list? Like MSN ppl in one group and facebook contacts on facebook group.

(Notice that i dont want to create a group and start adding contacts, i wonder if there is a way to sort them by protocol.)

3) Sometimes facebook keeps logging me off. any1 having the same prob?

4) Last question, sometimes my tray icon changes when i log in to facebook to a default global icon and not msn. I remember chosing msn icons for tray icons too. Is there any way to make it steady? ^^

1. The Facebook protocol is in beta and buggy. You should expect that.
2. If you're using clist_modern, then there's an option to sort the contact list by Account name (protocol). Options... -> Contact List -> General tab -> Contact List Sorting. I can't be sure of the other clists, but creating groups, as you mentioned, is a viable alternative.
3. Refer to 1.
4. Check Options... -> Customize -> Icons -> Global. If they're set to your MSN icons, but still change to Facebook, then refer to 1.

I'd like to echo and Reinforce that Facebook Protocol is not ready for prime time usage, and really should only be used to help Jarvis (the developer) make it better and by those who have experience with Alpha Testing software and/or Miranda

Another question, is there any way to disable poping up when im at full screen?

At works PC i have a program in DOS that i use and whenever some1 messages me in miranda the DOS Program goes off full screen and if i want to make it full screen again i have to close it and open it again.

Is there anyway to disable this?

Are you using Popup Plus? Options... -> Customize -> Popup Plus -> General tab -> Miscellaneous -> Disable popups in fullscreen mode.

Are you using TabSRMM? If you have it set to open a message window when someone messages you, then it's going to take focus away from the DOS window (bring it out of fullscreen mode) and display the message window. You can disable it from popping up here. Options... -> Message Sessions -> Tabs and layout -> Message tab and window creation options. Uncheck anything having to do with popups. Then go to the General tab and make sure "Always flash contact list and try icon for new messages" is checked (so you're at least notified of a new message). This isn't ideal if you want messages to popup when you're not in fullscreen mode. Why don't you just run your DOS program in windowed mode?

Please provide a version info next time. It would be easier to help instead of speculating as to what you're using.

That sounds to me it's maybe not an facebook protocol problem.

As I said I am using miranda cult pack. It has miranda v.0.8.5 .

Well Miranda doesn't do that anymore. I didn't do anything, it just stopped doing it. With both ways Miranda closes normaly.



Little question, what does the selecion mode? Full, less etc.
