database plugin problem

hello,

after updating to the new version of the database plugin(v 0.5.6.1), miranda insist that the program should be version 0.5 ( although there is such version yet of miranda) , and closes itself.

This plugin is to old, i guess the code is not compatible with the current dbx_3x from #5X.

Wait for sje for some answers, in the meantime use the dbx_3x from #58 without backups.

The plug-in has just been updated to the above mentioned version.

The problem here is that UFO doesn't use a 0.5 Miranda build, in fact he doesn't even know it exists.

I strongly support someone else's suggestion that there should definitely be a clear separation between add-ons compatible with both the release and the development builds, and the add-ons only compatible with the development builds.

There's too much confusion right now, only looking at clist_modern reports "it won't show up in the Plugins list".

UFO, please forget that that plug-in exists. It's only meant for the development builds, which you don't need, if everything goes well for you.

the reason i tried to use the new version is that the plugin "updater" told me there is an update...

I too have the same problem and Miranda wont start (there is a popup wich says "Fatal Error" and requestes a Miranda-version 0.5 or higher).
After that there is also an Error that the database (NAME.dat) can't be opend and I should run the DB-tool...

What can I do to get Mirade back running?

ok, i think i succeeded installing this new version.
i just replaced all files with the new ones.

i don't need the aol messenger plugin (or whatever its name is) , so i deleted it.

i really think that miranda should show in a list the plugins , sorted by date added/updated.

Could you explain what you mean more clearly? Show where?

there should be an organized way to see all the plugins in a list , with a description for each of them (when you click it) , and the list should be ordered by date, from the most lately updated , to the last...

You can already see all plugins in a list. Options > Plugins, or the Versioninfo plugin will also do it. The plugin description is available by clicking on each plugin.

As for ordered by date with description, I don't see much point. Why do you think that this would be worthwhile?
