I did some tests and I think the Skype plugin tries to connect to the Skype API when the _global_ status in Miranda is set to anything other than offline. The plugin should however only react to the _protocol_ status.

With "enhanced" contact lists like clist_modern or -nicer, you can lock the status of certain protocols by clicking the protocol icon in the status menu. If you lock Skype to offline and set the global status to online, the Skype plugin stays offline but it tries to connect to the Skype API.

Do not know about that, can you tell me where these options are ?

Will try to contact nicer and modern dev to ask what and how to do this.

You can lock protocol statuses by clicking on the status bar and selecting the protocol icon in the status menu.

A strange thing just happened. Skype proto showed the 'skype not running' error and i let it be. Some time before, i went to try to change the status of the proto and 2 status appeared selected:

It happens in status bar and main menu too. I dont know if this is a clist thing or a proto thing, but i never saw it berfore. (ps: i'm using clist modern mod)

If i try to set status to offline, nothing happens. If i try to set it online, it try to connect, show the error popup and it remains the same

I got problems with the away messages in the contact list. Does skype plugin support unicode ?

The Skype-Plugin has no special Unicode Version. This is why you can use the normal Version also for unicode. I use it also like that.

as soon as you try to write on non-system-default lang, you will realise that there is no support of unicode in there, and you are unable to even read messages.
Tweety, please, add unicode to your mod if SkypeAPI supports that.
