    Jabber Chaos

I used Miranda with Jabber. First I used my ID on jabber.org. Since this regularly disconnected I tried moving to another Jabber server (jaim.at) with the result that I wasn't able to contact my old contacts on jabber.org.

But there was no problem with changing between my jabber.org and my jaim.at ID.

Now I set up the ICQ-Transporter with another Jabber client. When going online with Miranda the next time, all my ICQ contacts were added as Jabber contact, I went offline in ICQ was online in Jabber but my Jabber friends couldn't see me in Jabber.

When I try using my old jabber.org ID now Miranda tells me I'm online while I am not really online. When I try to add Jabber contacts I'll get a message "Could not start search on Jabber - is Jabber connected?"

    What's wrong there?

I think Miranda is the slimest and fastest Jabber client but maybe it's still missing some Jabber functions. I don't know either where to turn off the ICQ Transport in Jabber.

Of course. Different server, different account.

If you added ICQ contacts to your jabber, they are going to show up when you sign in to your account. Doesn't matter what program you use :).

Try to set the protocol offline and then reconnect - could be a known jabber bug. You can tell if you are really connected by whether the jabber items in the main menu are greyed out.

In the agents list, in the main menu.
