After a few minutes, the connection seems to break. Subsequent attempts result in this log:

    [17:35:03 JABBER] SetAwayMsg called, wParam=40072 lParam=Yep, I'm here.
    [17:35:03 JABBER] PS_SETSTATUS( 40072 )

    works for me!
This is what you need to fill in (make sure you check the 'Show expert options' on the bottom left checkbox), on Options-->Network-->Jabber:
Username: <your gmail account (without the "@gmail.com")>
    Password: <your gmail account password>
    Login Server: gmail.com

check the 'Manually specify connection host' and fill:
    Host: talk.google.com
    Port: 5223

Copy ssleay32.dll and libeay32.dll to your miranda installation directory (_not_ to the Plugins directory), you can find them at http://jabber.au.edu/miranda/openssl097d_dll.zip.

Leave everything else untouched! Happy 'Jabber'ing!

I am connected using the proxy... and doing some tunneling to bypass my company firewall and restriction!

Anyone around connected to try to chat?

    official enough? http://www.google.com/talk/
    more specifically... http://www.google.com/support/talk/b....py?topic=1415

Question though...my contacts only show up as "online" when I actually connect using the official client at the same time. Does this happen to anyone else?

zcf - i tried to bypass my company's firewall but have not luck.

i am guessing you messed around with Miranda's network options page. could you highlight what you did?

Oddly enough, i can connect to googletalk via GT's own IM program which I downloaded from the site.

    [22:21:43 JABBER] Z:\tmp\miranda\miranda\src\modules\netlib\netlibop enconn.c 39: gethostbyname() failed (11001)

not sure if this is the only problem, but it seems you have a space after the server name. it should be "talk.google.com" and not "talk.google.com ".
This might be messing up poor gethostbyname()...

Change it in the Jabber connection tab.
