    UPnP support

    Hi there!

I'm connected to the net through a router which reassigns my IP quite often. Thus I have to change the port routing table everytime this happens, if I still want to be able to receive incoming files in Miranda.

A UPnP plugin would be of great help. I don't think that there's already one out there.

    Thanks

i dont think there is one either... but maybe you can turn off dynamic ip on your comp, or on the router, or set it to forward to your computer name instead of ip?

You have to pay extra for static IP's usually.

And computer names (IE, Network Identification name) only function for a LAN, not a WAN.

A UPnP plugin would be neat, but I thought that the file transfer protocols could already find your external IP address? At least I thought there was a checkbox for that on my settings.

Yeah, I thought he was too. If you're connecting via a router that is assigns an IP to your computer, then presumably it's acting as the DHCP server for the LAN; and if that's the case, you should be able to have it reserve/always assign a specific LAN IP to a particular computer. That's how I have it set up, anyhow, and port forwarding works fine here.
