    Slow transfer speed @MSN?

So i just notice that the transfer speed through MSN seems to have dropped significantly, speed is at 1-5kb/s both when sending and receiving.

My thought is that maybe Microsoft did change something a couple of days back, the day that you couldn't log in with any third party client at all, i haven't done anything with the network here at home, and before this i had great speeds sending and receiving files through MSN.

Anyone got any thoughts on this?

You are unable to establish p2p connection, make sure that or UPnP is enabled on your router or you can setup manual port forwarding on your router (in the last case do not forget to update Miranda settings and specify forwarded ports). If you have 3rd party firewall you need to set it up so that Miranda able to accept p2p connections.

Both my router and Miranda IM has upnp enabled, and i can see that Miranda IM opens its ports in the routers logs. But still, transfer speeds it very slow, so there is something weird going on.

Well, p2p involves 2 parties, your contact should be capable of establishing p2p connection as well. Is he? Is he running messenger that supports it?

He uses the official windows live messenger client from Microsoft.

Edit: And i know in the past when we've transferred files between us through MSN, the speed has been a lot faster than what it is now.

    Network Log:

Any idea what to do with the network log? It got kinda big after sending a file between me and my friend, about 8mb, and there is quite a bit of text.

Edit: Uploaded it as a zip to mediafire: http://www.mediafire.com/?2cde2bo53h13uaq

Edit2: I also tried to receive a file from someone else running Miranda IM as well, and we got the same slow speed.

Well, it seems UPnP port mappings are not working on the router... Router provides empty responses to all UPnP requests. UPnP is enabled on the router but it does not do anything. There must be a setting on the router you need to change....

Hmm, maybe upnp got a bit broken when i updated dd-wrt on my router then. I'll do a reboot of the router and check if that maybe solves the problem or maybe there is a new update out.

    Anyway thanks, i'll report back.

In my experience Linux based routers do not work well with UPnP, my recommendation - get a good router.

For some reason all people who have problems with routers and ask for help here have Linux routers.... So I got firm believe - never buy Linux based router, you will get nothing but trouble.
