Confusion with removing contacts from MSN

Hi,
Let me give you an example.
I'm in Miranda, and I want to remove example@example.com from my contact list. I highlight their name, and hit the delete key on my keyboard. I click the Yes button on the dialog that appears, but don't check the "also remove from Hotmail addressbook" dialog when it appears. Next, when that's done, I exit Miranda, and re-launch it. However, when I sign back into MSN, example@example.com is back in my contact list.
Can you explain why it does that?
