So you mean I can use the mirand add on http://addons.miranda-im.org/details...ewfile&id=3893 for free, without paying for my cellphone to connect to the internet?

I mean that at least in US, all phones (not only smart phones) have IM, i.e. you can login into AIM, MSN, Yahoo, etc. account from your phone itself. Every IM is sent/received on the network of interest and billed as SMS (no data plan is required for this).

Really, there's no such thing in poland to my knowledge that's why I'm so keen. on getting an sms each time my friend gets online.

Oh and here the sender pays for the sms. (In poland), so no matter who sends me the sms messages it will be free for me:)

    Please read the bottom line:
    http://www.windowsliveformobile.com/...s/default.aspx

¹ Your mobile provider may charge for mobile Web access. We recommend a data plan. - This is the part that bothers me, you see my operator changes a lot for Internet access. I knew about the possibility of using any IM on my cell long before I had the idea with sms notifcation, but the thing is that I want my cellphone to wake me when this US contact becomes online. (Due to the 6 hour time difference between us, my friend becomes online at about 1-5 a.m, and is online for 2 hours. (So it would have to be connected to the internet all night long, which would cost me a lot = bad )

If I would be notified about the changed status of my friend via sms, I wouldn't pay that much = :) good

    No it doesn't, The information

Is copied from the English site. It seems that every user of an IM mobile messenger has to pay for connecting the cell phone to the internet, not only for the messages themselves.

No, it's not true, it depends on the country and your provider.

Really? Well I believe you I've only got my cell phone last week, so I don't really know. My bad I guess. I sincerely apologize for my mistake.
