    WhatsUp.NET discussion

WhatsUp.NET is my small project to teach me the .NET language and to contribute to the community. Some may find it useful and some may not.

If you have any suggestions or if you want to report bugs then feel free. Im listening to every comment and try to implement your wish.

WhastsUp.NET is a standalone program written in .NET and is not a plugin.

    Features:

    - Download up to 10 addons at once
    - Optional extract to a specified directory
    - Delete downloaded addons (manually)
    - Open addon URL for a complete description
    - Update backend files which are older than 24 hours
    - Search category for an addon
    - Search Addons website (Miranda IM or Google search)
    - Show last 15 new and updated addons
    Usage:

    - Browse to the desired category
    - Tick desired addon (up to 10 addons)
    - Right-click and click download
    What does WhatsUp.NET not do:

    - Update your installed plugins (no intention to add this feature)
    Download from Addons

    Changelog:

    0.1.1.3

    Added: Better error handling
Added: 'Explorer' window to move already unpacked addons manually to the Miranda IM folder

    Changed: Shortcut keys
    Changed: Icons
    Changed: Removed progress bar

Fixed: Size of 'Latest Addons' window
Fixed: Checking and deleting of outdated backend files
    Fixed: Slow application startup
    Download beta (obsolete)

    Changelog:

    wow cool 8)

    suggestions:
-add an "Open Changelog" entry below "Open Addons URL"
-make the headers sortable, or at least change the order to
    File - Version - Author - Added - Updated - ID

    Thanx :)

1.) Im afraid that is not possible since I am limited to the backend files and there is no mention of 'changelog' or any path to a changelog file on the addons server.
2.) Columns can be reordered now and order will be changed :)

Update will be available before the end of the week.

I thought about creating it via
    Code:
    http://addons.miranda-im.org/details.php?action=viewlog&id=<ID>
since you have the ID, you can create the changelog link with it ;)

I think if that tool could have a option to show plugins with some filters maybe more useful, for example by "installed" "updated recently" or some others, but this tool is already useful for me.

request: please put up a reasonably detailed explanation of what this plugin does in your first post in this thread? Also can you describe how it differs from the updater plugin? i assume they perform similar roles.

A little correction: WhatsUp.NET is not a plugin but a standalone program :)

"standalone program", some request , here or in IRC Channels, should not forget this. ...

This tool have not any access to miranda, therefore:

    -Installed, already updated plugins?
scan the plugin directory for filenames? or read the versioninfo.txt/chrshdump.txt?
I think that would show too many false negative or postives.

    -beta versions?
Unfortunately nobody find a better solution for the updater plugin as put the beta URL inside the plugins on his own. :-$

    -search for plugins
be serious, the addon site on his own ask aunt Google ....
