    IRC Protocol Discussion thread

This is a thread for the official IRC plugin that is shipped with Miranda...

Please post all your issues and comments about it here...

The 0.7.x releases of Miranda lacks the 'IRC_servers.ini' file... you can download a bit outdated copy of it from here

If you have questions about how to use the IRC protocol, then you may find answers here:

    http://wiki.miranda-im.org/IRC

    IRC RFC: http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1459.html

I'd say you need a font with all those characters.

But I have another thing to ask about. When using Latin I with UTF-8 detection everything works fine, but when using UTF-8, Latin I chars like едц don't show up. Why?

    @Ygrek,
all ASCII (characters 32-127 from an ANSI Ansi codepage) yes, already supported,
all ANSI, no, whence the IRC plugin should know the correct codepage?
(Use the default system codepage if unknown characters are detect in utf-8 mode is not the best idea, in my opinion )

    idle time

    Hi there!
I have the following problem: when I try to check the idle time of an irc user by typing /whois nick nick, I get back the following:
nick 7557 1192953635 seconds idle, signon time

So, the idle time is presented in seconds, and not in the hh:mm:ss format. Will this be fixed in the next versions of the plugin?

when I type /whois blah blah
the userinfo dialog appear and I see blah(idle 1h, 12m, 18s) at the top.

    In the server-window I see
4338 1190539735 seconds idle, signon time

    Whats wrong with it?
That the server window show it in seconds? But this is the original output from the server, how should miranda fix this?

Thanks, that's what I needed! I didn't notice the titlebar in the userinfo window.

I have a feature request: an option to save the CTCP Version reply directly to MirVer.

Hey when I updated to the new version of the IRC plug in irc stopped auto connecting to my servers when I started up Miranda. I have to manually tell it to be "online" so that it connects.

I don't have that option on miranda. At least what I'm looking at would make me think that default would be set to online. So that status lock thing I doubt is the problem here. I have three plug-ins for IRC as well 1 of the newest version and two of the older ones. The older ones automatically come online but the new one is the one that doesn't.
