    Problem with Jabber file transfer

    Hi,

I am using the latest Miranda test build, and I cannot get file transfer to work. I have set my external IP (static), chose 10 incoming ports, configured my router accordingly, but file transfer does not work in either direction. I tried it with the Psi client and everything worked fine. If the opposite side uses Psi instead of Miranda, I also can receive files with Miranda, but sending does not work.

    What could be wrong?

    Regards,
    Patrick

Try disabling both file transfer methods in Jabber > Advanced.
Or try setting a different bytestream proxy.

This does not help. The other side uses Miranda 0.6.8. And there, the bytestream proxy options are greyed out. How come?

Yes. But the connection is not being established.

Because only Jabber.dll higher than 0.7 have this option enabled.

What happened to the Miranda 0.7 downloads, btw? I do not find them anymore.

There are no more nightly builds, but 0.7.0 preview releases can be found here: http://www.miranda-im.org/blog/

Direct conection and external address via a DynDns service are enabled here.
Ports? No idea, but 10 should be enough. (uPnP enabled here)

Psi have no other settings than miranda, but try if an open Port 8010 solved the problem.

Newer Miranda versions support file transfer via Proxy and In-Bound files. but normally there is no need for this, direct connection and maybe a DynDns should be enough.

Maybe your problem is the other side...
