Meebo protocol (Jabber mod)

CAUTION: THIS IS AN BETA STAGE PLUGIN. IT CAN DO VERY BAD THINGS. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

This is a plugin for the jabber protocol, to make it work better with the meebo service (mainly with the meebo me widget).

It has the following changes regarding the official jabber protocol:

* Option to Automatically authorize all new contacts
* Option to Always remove meebo me contacts when they go offline (with or without history)
* Detection of meebo me MirVer
* Better handling of groups and nicks sent by meebo me

The zip contains also some nice icons made by Angeli-Ka.

As always, this is beta software, provided without any warranty, use at your own risk.

To make this work you need this mod of jabber that support plugins:

With some lucky it will be incorporated in the SVN soon.

It also need the latest version of miranda (at SVN) to correctly handle the option pages.

what about including this stuff in jgmail? would the structure allow it? user can then choose which mode to use. either gmail or meebo.

I don't think this is a good idea... These are different mods for different uses. It would made (a little) sense if that is done in jabber itself, but I still think separeted things that do its job well is better than one big thing that does everything with bugs...

hello there I understand your point but while this is just a small modification it's probable you'll stop working on it some day. then people will start coming to you... "please sync with latest jabberg sources" :)

That would not be impossible to do. If JabberG could be written to allow extension plugins, it would work out real well.
